—Open to international (and Canadian scholars) who have completed a doctoral thesis (within the last five calendar years) on a topic primarily related to Canada, to visit a Canadian (or international university) with a Canadian Studies program for a research fellowship.

The Brian Long Best Doctoral Thesis in Canadian Studies
—Recognize and promote an excellent PhD thesis on a Canadian topic that contributes to outstanding scholarship on Canada written by a member (or one of his/her PhD students) of a Canadian Studies Association or Associate Member Association. Members of the Canadian Studies Network are encouraged to apply for this award.
