The ICCS wishes to welcome the new president of the French Association for Canadian Studies (AFEC). Laurence Cros replaces Françoise Le Jeune. Professor Cros has a PhD in Canadian Studies and is Associate Professor of English at UFR Études Anglophones at the Université Paris Cité where she teaches history and civilization of the United States and Canada.

His research initially focused on the interaction between writing history and reflection on national identity in Canada, before studying how this identity is expressed through discourse on Canadian politics. While continuing to work on the various manifestations of Canadian identity, she is now interested in a new line of research on historical fiction. She edited the journal Études Canadiennes/Canadiennes Studies from 2018 to 2026.
